CEO, Waterous Energy Fund

Since January 2017, Adam Waterous has been Managing Partner and CEO of Waterous Energy Fund, a private equity fund primarily focusing on privately owned oil and gas companies with assets based in North America.

Previously, Adam was Head of Global Investment Banking and Energy for Scotiabank’s Global Banking & Markets’ division. Adam joined the bank in 2005 after selling his own boutique oil and gas advisory company Waterous & Co., to Scotiabank.

Adam holds an Honours Business Administration degree from the University of Western Ontario and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Harvard Business School, where he graduated as a Baker Scholar – in the top 5%. In 2012, Adam was awarded the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal for services in the oil and gas industry. In 2017, Adam was awarded the Oil and Gas Council’s Lifetime Achievement Award.

Adam is a board member for the Calgary United Way and is active in several community organizations in and around the Calgary and Banff areas. Adam enjoys spending time in Banff alongside his wife Jan and their 3 sons.
