Graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering in Process & Chemical Engineering, specializing in Fuel Technology, from University of Sheffield, UK, in 1997, she joined PETRONAS in 1998 as a process engineer and scholar for PETRONAS’ subsidiary of PETRONAS Gas Berhad, in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, taking on experience in the start-up and commissioning of Gas Processing Plants in Paka, Terengganu and subsequently, continued her involvement in the initial operation, stabilization and supervision of some of the new gas plants’ process and utilities units. She moved swiftly through plant operations, process designing, project management, engineering and technical management portfolios, garnered through her involvement in, among others, in PGB’s Ethane Extraction Improvement, increased Liquid Handling and Gas capacity retraying projects, utilities and steam capacity improvements, waste heat boilers and other gas technologies projects within the Group gas sector until 2013. In 2006, she served as Technical Services Process Manager for the Gas Processing Plants complex in Kerteh, over-viewing facilities studies and several novel technology applications, including installation of PETRONAS’ 1st and patented high performance AVD trays at GPP B, the application of Ionic Liquid pilot technology for Mercury removal at GPP 4, the Gas plants rejuv and revamp works, and the introduction of the APC technologies at GPP A and B sites.
She then led the project management and engineering teams of her 1st international plant design work for PETRONAS’ Carigali in 2008, leading the Turkmenistan Gas Separation Plant project from Kuala Lumpur, before joining PETRONAS’ 1st Floating LNG project team briefly in 2010. Qualifying as a Technical Professional Principal level in the Gas Process Technology field, she went on to progress as the Senior Project Manager of Malaysia’s 1st LNG Regasification Terminal plant in Malacca in 2010, delivering the 1st of its kind 3.5 MPTA regas Plant on island berth facilities in the world, leading the mega project teams of an international project alliance outfit, throughout in its engineering, construction, installation of the offshore-onshore facilities. In 2013, she joined the Company’s LNG Business sector, through her role as the Senior Technology Manager of Technical Services, for Malaysian LNG’s Plants Complex, in Bintulu, Malaysia, where she overviewed several key LNG production initiatives of its nine Trains, such as increasing TIGA production capacity beyond 100%, improving AGRU systems, spearheading pioneering work in Mercury skid in Wet Condensate, introducing Predictive Emissions (PEMS) and M-Molecule Management (M-MAP) programs, and overviewing specialist teams to commission and stabilize new LNG facilities such as a new 3.6 MTPA LNG Train and MARLIN, 1st On-shore LNG BOG Regas plant.
In late 2017, she brought her rounded O&G experience to the Group corporate sector, by becoming Head of Capability Management of PD&T, overviewing capability programs for the Group’s Technical Center of Excellence talent pool. She continues to be passionate about the development of the PETRONAS Technical fraternity, including acting as skill group and LNG Course trainer, a technical assessor, skill group Resource person, group forum facilitator, mediator for Borneo LNG Conferences and was LNG Academy 1st faculty leader. Having served as PETRONAS University adjunct speaker, she regularly presents conference papers in Malaysia and abroad, the last on “Optimised Reflux Application in the Technology Selection of a LPG Production facility” at AIChE US annual conference. A member of Institute of Chem. Engineers, UK , she holds a Graduate Certification in International Management from the University of Melbourne, Australia, lives in Kuala Lumpur, is married with family and enjoys travelling in her spare time.
