Chinese Energy Strategy and Oil & Gas Policies, Beijing Gas Group

Mr. Bai Jun is vice president of Beijing Gas Group’s Research Institute, overseeing research effort on energy strategy, policy, market and international cooperation. Before joining the group, Mr. Bai was executive director of the Institute of International Energy, an energy think tank affiliated with the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC). He has served in the energy industry for more than a decade and specializes in China energy market analysis, especially in oil and gas sector. Mr. Bai chaired various NDRC energy research projects, participated in oil and gas market reform study and helped draft oil and gas industry regulations. He was a member of the drafting committee of China’s long-term energy strategy that stretches beyond 2030. Prior to this, Mr. Bai was chief China analyst at an IOC’s global oil trading unit, tracking every facet of Chinese oil market and energy market at large. He had also served as an energy researcher at a major international information service provider for professional markets, initiating its China LNG coverage and leading its China oil refining and power market analysis. Mr. Bai writes commentaries and reports for both Chinese and English publications.
