Carlos Alberto Maria Casares is a Chemical Engineer graduated from the Buenos Aires Technological Institute (ITBA), Gas Specialist from the Petroleum Institute of the University of Buenos Aires and graduated from the Graduate Program in Management Development (IAE).
Since January 16, 2019, he has been the Undersecretary of Hydrocarbons and Fuels, having taken leave of absence (*) in the ENARGAS where he has been a member of the Board since August 2017.
With more than 35 years of professional experience in the industry natural gas and 25 in university teaching, he has worked in Tecpetrol, in the Commercial Direction and Gas del Estado, in the Operations Management.
His academic and technical career began in 1986 with his work in technical committees of the Argentine Institute of Petroleum and Gas (IAPG) and, since 1996 together with the IRAM standardization institute for the development of IRAM-IAPG Technical Standards.
Since 1994 he has worked as a graduate and postgraduate teacher at the ITBA and has worked for 10 years (1994-2004) teaching as a professor of Postgraduate at the Institute of Gas and Oil of the National University of Buenos Aires.
He has written works for congresses, seminars and journals of the specialty and is co-author of the book “Technical, strategic and economic aspects of transport and gas distribution”, IAPG -2014. He has also given training courses and seminars on technical and commercial topics related to natural gas, in national institutions (IAPG, CAI, UNSa, UTN-FRBB) and Latin American (CBH and UNSAAC).
He is tutor of Final Works and Graduate and Postgraduate Theses and has integrated, since 2015, juries for Teaching Contests.
He has worked as ‘Par Evaluador' in the National Commission of University Evaluation and Accreditation since 2009.
