CEO, Frontier Oil Limited
Engr Dada Thomas is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Frontier Oil Limited. He has over 38 years of experience in the oil and gas industry with a proven track record in Facilities Engineering, Project Management and new business conception and development. He spent his first 21 years in the oil & gas industry with the Shell Group and managed a variety of increasingly complex engineering projects and general management roles in both Nigeria and Holland before venturing into the business world as an entrepreneur.
He resigned from Shell in 1998 to set up Tri-Ocean Nigeria Engineering Ltd., in partnership with Tri-Ocean Engineering Ltd. of Canada, providing engineering and related services to the international oil companies in Nigeria. In 2001, together with his partner, he bought out Tri-Ocean Engineering Ltd. and re-branded the company as Fairshores Ltd. He subsequently formed Frontier Oil Limited with a group of like-minded professionals in 2001to participate in the Federal Government of Nigeria’s first Marginal Field programme.
He has interests in a variety of oil and gas, real estates, facilities management and ICT ventures and is a serving Director of Fairshores Ltd, providing Twister Gas Technology solutions to the Nigerian Oil and Gas industry, and Alpha Mead Facilities Management Company, one of the leading Facilities Management Company in Nigeria. Engr Thomas was a founding and former Director of Geoplex West Africa Ltd. a specialised oil and gas service company providing wireline services to the Nigerian Oil & Gas industry and is the Chairman of Leed Technology Limited a family owned enterprise formed first in Canada and subsequently in Nigeria to promote the various interest of the Thomas family.
Engr. Thomas was appointed a 2nd Vice-|President of the Nigerian Gas Association in 2014. He is also the Chairman of The Marginal Fields Operators Group (MFOG) and the Somope Thomas Education Foundation, a philanthropic organisation he founded to facilitate access to education for the underprivileged in our society.
Engr Thomas is a graduate of Loughborough University of Technology, United Kingdom (1976) and is a registered engineer in Nigeria with COREN and the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) and also with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA), Canada. Engr. Thomas was appointed a 2nd Vice President of the Nigeria Gas Association in 2014.
