Director, Energy Transition

David Linden is passionate about helping companies understand and take advantage of the commercial opportunities and challenges arising out of the global energy transition. 

He has 15 years’ experience across Energy/ Utility, Oil and Gas, Finance and Data/Market Intelligence sectors. At the end of May 2020 he left the role of Director in Wood Mackenzie’s Energy Transition consulting division, where he was responsible for the development of new clients and opportunities across the

Power, Renewables, EV and Emerging Technology sectors. He also worked closely with other sectors on the topic of the energy transition, leveraging his knowledge of the gas, LNG and wider energy business. Recent project highlights included the creation of a technology roadmap for the UK Continental Shelf in a net-zero scenario; the development of a partnership between Wood Mackenzie and Wisdom Tree (the global ETF provider) for the creation of a battery storage / EV ETF index; assessing the changing value pools in power / energy markets; and the commercial assessment of renewable projects that are ‘subsidy free’.

David regularly speaks at conferences and panels on the role of the Energy Transition. Prior to joining Wood Mackenzie in 2011, David worked at Mott MacDonald, BP and Corus in various commercial and regulatory roles.
