Fernando started his career in 1981 and has global experience in technology, business and oilfield sectors. In 2008, he joined the Calfrac Board of Directors as an independent member and, in November 2010, the company appointed him President and Chief Operating Officer.

In January 2014, he accepted the role of President and Chief Executive Officer and continues as a board member. Prior to joining Calfrac, Fernando held a variety of executive and senior management positions in the services sector. Over a 19 year period (1984-2003), he progressed through various global assignments in both field and senior management positions at Schlumberger. From 2004 until 2010, he worked for CGGVeritas, a global geophysical services company. His assignments there were domestic (North America) and international (Middle East, Europe, Russia, Asia Pacific and Latin America) in nature. Fernando has completed the Stanford Executive MBA program (2003) as well as the Director Education Program (2008) developed by the Institute of Corporate Directors and the Rotman School of Management in conjunction with the Haskayne School of Business.
