Harry was born in Groningen, which is situated in the Northern part of The Netherlands. He completed his two year military service and finished a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources in 1989 followed by a Master in Sociology from the Erasmus University, Rotterdam in 1993

Harry is Vice President of Human Resources for GE Oil & Gas and holds responsibility for approximately 35,000 globally located employees in over 80 countries with the HQ from London. He was appointed to his current position in October 2008.

He previously was the SHRM for the GE International team. This organization was responsible for GE’s growth plans outside the US, with focus on talent acquisition, developing & localizing global talent and support of the National Executive Team. Basically the Global Growth Organization we know today.

Prior to this role he held various positions in GE such as Manager Executive Development at GE’s Headquarters and various HR Business Partner roles at GE Plastics. Prior to Harry’s 20 years at GE he was HR Manager with a major international construction company. During that period he was the HRM for Hong Kong’s Airport Chek Lap Kok while it was under construction.

Harry also worked on projects in Singapore, Nigeria, India, Europe and Middle East. Harry is married to Isabel and they have travelled to and lived in many global locations As the parents of 2 teenagers, they enjoy participating in active sports such as biking, sailing and skiing. Harry and his family currently live in Connecticut, US.
