Iain founded the Energy Council. He is ultimately responsible for managing the activities of the Energy Council – the world’s largest network for senior executives focused on tracking investment trends and deal flow activity in the energy sector.   

Prior to this Iain has worked within the energy and technology sectors with Reed Elsevier, the world’s largest publisher, and was a General Manager at Terrapinn, an international business operating in seven countries covering Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, Middle East and the USA.

Iain is a well-known speaker in his own right, speaking regularly at energy and Africa development meetings including the World Gas-to-Power Congress and World Energy Cities Partnership – a non-profit organisation whose member cities are globally recognised as international energy capitals.

In 2019 Iain has the honour of closing the New York Stock Exchange on behalf of the Energy Council membership.  Previously he has been distinguished as one of Africa’s Future African Energy Leaders and has been a participant in the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
