Vice President - Sustainable Investing Manager, Blackrock
Katherine Sherwin, Vice President, is the Sustainable Investing Manager for BlackRock Real Assets. She is responsible for developing and implementing strategies that advance ESG integration and sustainability performance across the BlackRock Real Assets global platform. Katherine works with BlackRock's Real Estate and Infrastructure portfolio managers to integrate sustainability policies and practices within their investment management and asset management processes, address and mitigate environmental and social risks, and drive improvements in portfolio performance and resilience.
Within her role Katherine also coordinates the sustainability reporting and communication activities for BlackRock Real Assets and manages the submissions into industry ESG benchmarking programmes, including the Global Real Estate Sustainability Benchmark (GRESB). She is a Member of the GRESB European Real Estate Benchmark Committee and the Chair of the GRESB EMEA Infrastructure Benchmark Committee. She also represents BlackRock on the British Property Federation (BPF) Sustainability Committee.
Prior to joining BlackRock in 2015, Katherine worked as an environmental and sustainability consultant for nine years, providing professional advisory, auditing and reporting services to a range of clients. Katherine earned her BSc (Hons) degree in Environmental Science from the University of Nottingham in 2006 and is an Associate Member of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA).
