Dr Luis Lucas
Centre Director, Oil & Gas Centre of Excellence
Dr. Luís Lucas has had a long teaching experience at all levels of the formal education system. Since the 90´s, he has been involved in teaching different undergraduate and post-graduate courses at the Faculty of Engineering of the Eduardo Mondlane University (Kinetics and Chemical Reactors, Risk and Safety Management, Instrumentation and Process Control, Fluid Dynamics, Reservoir Engineering and Phase behaviour of Petroleum Fluids). For years, he has also been researching biomass, including studies on its efficient use. Following this path, the main topic of his Ph.D. research program was the modelling of biomass pyrolysis as a function of pressure and vapour phase residence time.
Throughout all these years he has also been involved in many academic management activities. He has played the position of deputy-dean for academic affairs (2000-2002), deputy-dean for post-graduate Studies (2010-2017), and recently (February 2017) he was appointed to the position of Director of the Center of Studies of Oil and Gas Engineering and Technology at the University Eduardo Mondlane.
