Blue chip and public sector experience in Oil & Gas, infrastructure development and regulated industries. Comfortable in multi-cultural environments, having held positions in London, Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina and Uruguay.
After 21 years international experience, Marta left her position as President of the Shell companies in Mexico to join the energy industry in Uruguay. In March 2016 she was appointed Chairperson of ANCAP (Administración Nacional de Combustibles, Alcohol y Portland) an integrated national oil company with diversified activities in biofuels, cement, limestone, petrochemicals and one of the largest Uruguayan enterprises.

She has covered business development, deal-making, corporate and operational positions, mostly in Latin America. Highlights are the successful development and later divestment of the Terminal de LNG de Altamira (Mexico), the first LNG regasification plant in Latin America, to Vopak and Enagas; and a complex transaction with Gazprom involving long term contracts along the Sakhalin-to-California gas value chain. Corporate experience includes chairing of joint ventures where Shell partnered with Total and Mitsui. Marta was member of the Executive Committee and leader of the Energy and Environment Committee of the British Chamber in Mexico and President of the Dutch-Mexico Committee of the Mexican Council for Foreign Trade, Investment and Technology (COMCE).

Chemical Engineer (University of Buenos Aires) holding a Master in Strategic Financial Management from Kingston University (UK), participated in executive education programs at IMD and Harvard. Uruguayan, born 1964, married with a son and a daughter. Fluent in Spanish, English, German and Italian.
