
Mateus da Costa
Exploration and Acreage Release Director, ANPM
Mr. Mateus da Costa, is currently as a Director for Exploration and Acreage Promotions, and a member of Board of Directors at the Autoridade Nacional do Petroleo e Mineral (ANPM) or the National Petroleum and Mineral Authority of the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Authority. He joined the ANP, the former ANPM in the year 2010 as the Director for Acreage Release and Promotion. At the ANPM, Mr. da Costa, tasks are to look after all the petroleum exploration activities and organizing the licensing round activities for both Timor Leste Exclusive Area (TLEA) and the Joint Petroleum Development Area (JPDA) and promoting the petroleum and mineral potentials for the purpose of attracting the investments. During the last 9 years, Mr. Mateus has also been travelling around world and representing his organization speaking and his country speaking at more than 25 various International oil and gas conferences as key note and guest speaker, throughout Asia, Australasia, Europe and Africa.
Mr. Da Costa, did his undergraduate studies in Bachelor of Sciences for Explorations Geosciences at Macquarie University – Sydney, Australia, and his postgraduate studies in Master Sciences in Petroleum Geosciences Engineering at the University of Stavanger Norway. During the period of 2007 – 2009, while studying at University of Stavanger Norway, Mr. Da Costa, was actively took part as the Board Members for International Student Union at the University of Stavanger and was trusted to assume the following positions at the students union: Secretary of Students Affairs (January – June 2007), Secretary General (July – December 2007), Vice – President during 2008, and in 2009 was elected as President for the International Students Union.
Mr. Da Costa, is also currently doing another postgraduate studies in Master of Law – LLM International Commercial Law at the University of Salford, in Manchester, United Kingdom as a distance learner.
