Hon Dr Megan Woods is New Zealand’s Minister of Energy and Resources. She is responsible for ensuring New Zealanders have access to sustainable, secure and affordable energy and resources. She also holds portfolio responsibilities for Research, Science and Innovation, as well as for the Earthquake Commission and Greater Christchurch Regeneration. She has been the Labour Member of Parliament for Wigram in Christchurch since 2011. She has held various portfolios in Opposition – including Climate Change – helping her to gain an understanding of a wide range of issues. Prior to becoming a Member of Parliament, Minister Woods worked as a Business Manager at Plant & Food Research. She holds a PhD in New Zealand History from the University of Canterbury.
