
Meney de la Peza
Head of Hydrocarbons, CRE
Meney de la Peza is an economist specialized in the analysis, design and implementation of public policies and regulation to promote competition, market development and innovation. She joined the Mexican Energy Regulatory Commission in May 2016 as Head of the Regulation Unit. Since May 2017 she is Head of the Natural Gas Unit, where she is responsible for permit related processes, regulation, tariff setting and market oversight for all regulated midstream and downstream activities in the natural gas market.
Prior to joining the Commission, Meney had worked at the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit, the International Association of Pension Fund Supervisors and Mexico´s Central Bank. She has also been a consultant, providing technical assistance to the Mexican governments through projects financed by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). In all, she has over 15 years’ experience.
She holds a Master Degree in Risk Management and a Bachelor Degree in Economics, both from the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México (ITAM). In 2006, Banamex granted her the Economy Price with honors for her bachelor’s degree thesis.
