
Pete Smith
Engineering Advisor, RPS Energy
Dr Pete Smith is Engineering Advisor for RPS Energy he worked firstly as a reservoir engineer in the Institute of Hydrology in Oxford before joining BP where he had several roles including the development of Foinaven, Andrew and Harding in the UKCS, founding the BP Institute as Director and leading BP’s technology and environmental strategy. BP seconded Pete to help develop a new University in Trinidad (UTT) as Associate Provost and Professor of Petroleum Engineering. Returning to the UK in 2008, where Pete founded the consultancy Regansmith Associates Ltd, as well as joining RPS Energy to lead Oil & Gas Resource Audits. He led Decision Risk Management (DRM) in RPS Energy for several operators and additionally helped develop the engineering training programme for RPS Training. In 2016 Pete became a Chartered Petroleum Engineer and Fellow of the Energy Institute and has created and delivered more than 50 Oil and Gas training courses globally.
