
Qian Xiang
President, BHGE China
In this role, Xiang QIAN has the responsibility for leading the growth and profitability of the BHGE business in China, driving the commercial intensity, strengthening the customer focus, and ensuring continuous operational improvement in the Geomarket. He was appointed to his present position in July, 2017 after the merge of GE Oil & Gas with Baker Hughes. Prior to the merge, Xiang Qian was the president of GE Oil & Gas China .
Before joining GE in June 2015, Xiang Qian was Vice President and Managing Director of Baker Hughes North Asia for 3 years. Prior to that, Xiang was Baker Hughes Global Account Vice President and Vice President of Fishing and Intervention since he joined Baker Hughes in July 2011.
Xiang started his career with PetroChina in China in 1982. He joined Schlumberger Limited in 1991 and held a variety of field operations, marketing, technical support and management positions in Tunisia, Saudi Arabia, UK, US and China on fracturing, cementing, coiled tubing, completion and sand control services. He subsequently headed Schlumberger Well Services businesses in China, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea. Following which he also headed a global product line InTouch Technical and Operation Support out of Rosharon, Texas. Prior to joining Baker Hughes, Xiang worked for Hess Corporation, where he spent five years from 2006 to 2011, as a Completion Engineering Advisor.
Xiang earned a BS degree in Petroleum Engineer from NorthEast Petroleum University.
