Sergio Limardo is Repsol’s Exploracion Mexico Country Manager. He was appointed to this position in August 2017, he is in charge in managing, and representing Repsol’s interests related to the explorations activities in Mexico. Previously, Sergio worked within Repsol’s Business Development Group as Project Manager Latin America. He was in charge of assisting Upstream Business Development, Exploration and regional Business Units with the primary responsibilities of capturing and growing new business opportunities. He was also in charge of commercial negotiations for the company’s E&P activities in the Americas. Additionally his responsibilities include supporting the commercial activities for the Exploration Department in the region.

Sergio has worked before with Talisman Energy and Hess Corporation in commercial positions in London and Houston, before that he worked for nine years in the E&P Legal Department of TOTAL in Paris and Caracas. In those positions, Sergio has Held responsibilities for business negotiations in Latin America and West Africa. He has managed relations and negotiations with joint venture partners and government authorities. Directed negotiations for commercialization of natural gas production from corporate assets in Norway and identified new commercial opportunities to maximize gas sales, managed relations with transportation authorities and other natural gas producers, as well as, having responsibilities for preparing natural gas sales forecasting models. Previous to that, Sergio was responsible for identifying new exploration opportunities for global business negotiations department in Europe, North Africa, and Latin America. Led negotiations on exploration and production agreements, joint ventures, confidentiality agreements, and bid round participation and developed external relations with government representatives, national oil companies, strategic partners, and other oil and gas players.

Sergio earned a Bachelor of Law (LL.B) Degree from “Universidad Catolica Andres Bello” in 1995 and Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Temple University School of Law in 1996. Subsequently Sergio also earned an MBA from Texas A&M Mays Business School in 2010.]
