Shandell Szabo

Vice President, U.S. Onshore Growth, Anadarko

Mrs. Szabo was named Vice President, U.S. Onshore Growth in September 2016. She joined Anadarko in 2001 as an exploration geologist, working U.S. Gulf Coast Regional projects. Since then she has worked in positions of increasing responsibility throughout Anadarko’s U.S. onshore portfolio and Deepwater Gulf of Mexico. Her most recent positions included Regional Geoscience Manager, Gulf of Mexico, working the Lucius project; Exploration Manager, Central U.S., where she was responsible for the company’s exploration efforts in the Permian and Midcontinent basins; and Director, Investor Relations.
Mrs. Szabo is recognized as one of Houston’s Most Influential Women of 2016 by Houston Woman Magazine and currently serves on the United Way’s Montgomery County Regional Council. Shandell, alongside with her husband and three daughters, can often be found working in the community through strong ties with various organizations such as United Way, Junior Achievement, and the Montgomery County Food Bank.
Mrs. Szabo holds a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Michigan and a Master of Science in Environmental Geology from Texas Christian University. She is a registered professional geologist in the state of Texas.
