An energy economist of profession with some 32 years of professional experience, of which 27 years from electricity and energy sector developments in Southern Africa and the Africa continent. Founding partner of Thunder Energy (Mauritius), a specialised energy sector transaction advisory business. Recent previous experience include being responsible for Norconsult Group activities in Southern Africa (2010-14), Chief Operating Officer of CIC Energy Corp. (2007-10) where he managed development of 1,320 MW coal-fired cross-border IPP in Botswana for export to South Africa.

Advisor on private power developments (generation and transmission) based on non-recourse project financing in Mozambique, Namibia, Botswana, Angola and the wider Southern Africa region.  Project manager for assignments for governments, energy utilities, the Southern African Power Pool (SAPP), large electricity and energy users, power developers, private investors, and financiers on energy developments throughout Southern and Sub-Saharan Africa, including multi-lateral and bilateral development financing institutions.

Experience from transaction advisory work, energy market analysis and design, demand forecasting, economic and financial analysis, tariffs and energy pricing issues, energy industry restructuring, utility management contracts, development of legal and regulatory frameworks and project development and management (generation, transmission and distribution).
