OPAL

Oman society for Petroleum Services (OPAL) – is the first employer led NGO Society in Oman formed to represent the Oil and Gas Industry. OPAL started as a concept in 1998, when like-minded companies embarked on a vision to promote high industry standards and create level playing field for all companies.

Today OPAL is supported by more than 400 members companies, made up of Oil & Gas Producers & Operators, Contractors and Suppliers – large and small.

As a non-profile organisation, OPAL provides a single umbrella body to agree and promote high standards of work competence, QHSE and business professionalism with the vision of raising the standards of companies operating in the Oman Oil and Gas Industry.

OPAL aspires to be foremost facilitating body, with an employer set mandate in three key areas:

Voice of the Industry – To Be the facilitating body for forums, employer consultation workshops, conference and Publication of best practices.

Standards and Compliance – working with the sector to Set, implement and monitor Oman Oil and Gas Standards for Occupational Competency, Operational HSE and Business Efficiency.

Human Capital Development – Support for Omani Nationals by facilitating the Design and implementation of Apprenticeship programs, development courses and graduate training frameworks.
